Christ Knowing

In the Old Testament, every demand God makes on a man is from His point of view and is completely logical.

What is the demand that God makes of man?

God said be ye holy as I am holy. How holy then is the natural question?  Even as I am holy. Utterly holy, totally holy in the absoluteness of God's righteousness.

In the New Testament, what is the demand the Lord Jesus would impose of us?

Matthew 5:48 says we should be holy, and be perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect. These are demands on a man from God's point of view which is completely reasonable. Christ's logic is the goal not man's logic. Evasive is man shaming, ducking, dodging, that the Word of God, and stretching grace in a carnal direction that God never intended.

God made man to be in likeness and in His image -- not a carnal self-centered, ego driven Bible monster.
When God first made man, how holy do you think he was?

If, He made him in His own image. Jesus didn't become holy at the cross. He never lost the image of God, as His creator created Him. In that same image at His human birth. He was not different.  He was prophet-sized image. In your life's journey, faith will teach you how to develop character that will develop holiness. For without it, this development no man will see (understand the Lord) you will not please Him.

No one would ever believe that the Bible definition of grace would have as many different references. According to Webster's it is gratia - pleasing quality, beauty or charm of form, movement or expression given in good will.  It means to grant something freely.  God's favor as His chosen, divine influence acting in man.  The biblical definition for grace - charis - is that the spiritual man is one who walks by the Spirit both in sense of Galatians 5:16 and Galatians 5:25, and who himself manifests the fruit of the Spirit in accordance with scriptures.
