Hebrews 4:16 (MSG)
The High Priest Who Cried Out in
Pain
14-16 Now
that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to
God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is
out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing,
experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what
he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.
Hebrews 4:11-12 (NKJV)
The Word Discovers Our Condition
11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.Joshua 24:15 (NKJV)
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the Gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”1 Corinthians 10:22-24 (NKJV)
22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?All to the Glory of God
23 All things are lawful for me,[a] but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me,[b] but not all things edify. 24 Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.Psalm 37:25 (KJV)
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Two different comparisons about the same things. Directed to
us.
Psalms 37:25 Context
22For such
as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be
cursed of him shall be cut off. 23The
steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his
way. 24Though
he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with
his hand. 25I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the
righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. 26He
is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. 27Depart
from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. 28For
the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for
ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)
21 Death and life are in
the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
I Corinthians 10-22-24 (NKJV)
Some of us are “to smart”
for our own good.
22-or do we provoke the lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
23- All to the glory of God
All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all
things are lawful for me, but not all things edify. Let no one seek his own,
but each one the other’s well being.
Acts 2:38 New King James Version (NKJV)
38 Then
Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name
of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of
the Holy Spirit.
Prayer:
Lord in Jesus Name.
You said I can choose death or life, we choose life. You do
miracles; you are greater than the greatest. You are wiser than the wisest.
Lord your love is stronger than the strongest. Therefore you desire the glory
and the honor, and we worship you. Your miracles always show up to acclaim your
greatness.
1 John 4:9-10 The Message (MSG)
God Is Love
7-10 My beloved
friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone
who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person
who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is
love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love
for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This
is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved
God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our
sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.
