From a Carnal Mind to Spiritual Mind Part Two
My last post described some evidences of humanism disguised as faith doctrine. In this post, I would like to offer some evidences of
someone who is truly walking with the Lord. I pray that these virtues draw you
to dig deeper into your relationship with God. His benefits are manifold, His
ways are higher than anything you can face, I pray you are blessed as you read
and do what the Word of God prompts you to do.
Faith is not only a declaration of dependence; it is also
a vow of allegiance.
Faith is not only a declaration of dependence. |
Faith is the self-surrender to the Great Physician and
leaving or case in His hands. But it is also the taking of prescriptions and
the active following of His directions that allows for manifestations of His
promises. This applies in every area of life. Faith is the dedication in your
walk with God that you can’t allow anyone, any doctrine or bad thing in your
life to weaken.
Faith is more than a belief and trust. It is the action
of the soul going out toward the object of apprehension. (Heb 11:1) The Holy Spirit gives
you direction on how to be lead. It is the exercised of a spiritual faculty
akin to that of sight. It establishes a personal relationship between the one
who exercises faith and one who exercises faith and the object of faith.
When the intellectual feature predominates, we call it
belief. When the emotional element predominates, we call it trust. When we say
that we will trust in the Lord, we are really saying is, “When I feel Him
moving I know He’s there.”
Faith is an
affirmation and an act which binds the eternal Christ in the believer to the truth. It eliminates the need for so many opinions and pros and
cons in order to make critical decisions. The glory of Christ is in us. Hope is
accomplished by the predetermined will of God. Christ would become the author
and developer of our faith.
There is a prescription that I want to share in my next
post about the process that is needed in order to really walk by faith with God
results.
Talk to you soon,
Pastor James P. Norman
