TO BE IN CHRIST – THE TREE (PART TWO)   He showed them a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet. He bore our sins “in” his own body on the tree (1 Peter 2:24).   This was the second tree, the place of the second choice.  Adam had repudiated his relationship to God at that first tree, and said “no” to God. He then stepped out of life into death. He stepped out of dependence into independence, so that you and I (at that second tree the place of second choice) can say our “yes” where he said “no”.  We can step back out of death into life!  We will be raised from the dead, out of our self-will and independence, into a childlike dependence which is the obedience of faith.   “I am the Lord that healeth thee”. This is the beginning of our salvation! TO BE IN CHRIST (PART ONE) To be in Christ is redemption; but for Christ to be in you – that is sanctification! To be in Christ - that makes you fit for heaven; but for Christ to be in you - that makes you fit for Earth! To be in Christ – that changes your destination; but for Christ to be in you - that changes your destiny! The one makes heaven your home and the other makes this world his workshop. I have been bound to this earth by a law that I have never been able to break. That is the law of gravity. By Faith I step into the new law of God. I sit back in the rest of faith and new mighty anointing roars into my life. I discover that the new law of the spirit, of life in Christ Jesus, has me free from the law of sin and death. As long as I maintain (by faith) that position of total dependence I do not have to try to be free from the law of sin and death.
