TO BE IN CHRIST – THE CARNAL CHRISTIAN (PART THREE)

TO BE IN CHRIST – THE CARNAL CHRISTIAN (PART THREE)   You say, I thought a carnal Christian was a backslider somebody for instance who used to go to church but has run off with somebody else’s wife! Oh no! That is only one kind of carnal Christian, and I would not suggest that you were that kind of carnal Christian.   No, No! I am talking about some Sunday school teachers. I am talking about some Sunday school superintendents. I am talking about some Pastor in his pulpit. I am talking about some missionary on the field. I am talking about many ordinary average earnest Christians. They are wonderful people. You would love to meet them. They talk all the language of salvation and they mean every work. They say they are not hypocrites.   They are overwhelmed inwardly with a sense of defeat, frustration, futility and bareness. When you meet them they will smile sweetly and they will mean the smile they give you. They will grip you by the hand and they will say ...

TO BE IN CHRIST (PART ONE)

TO BE IN CHRIST (PART ONE) To be in Christ is redemption; but for Christ to be in you – that is sanctification! To be in Christ - that makes you fit for heaven; but for Christ to be in you - that makes you fit for Earth! To be in Christ – that changes your destination; but for Christ to be in you - that changes your destiny! The one makes heaven your home and the other makes this world his workshop. I have been bound to this earth by a law that I have never been able to break. That is the law of gravity. By Faith I step into the new law of God. I sit back in the rest of faith and new mighty anointing roars into my life. I discover that the new law of the spirit, of life in Christ Jesus, has me free from the law of sin and death. As long as I maintain (by faith) that position of total dependence I do not have to try to be free from the law of sin and death. I am being set free by the operation of a new law, the operation of the Holy Spirit. III John 2 2  Beloved...

WHAT ON EARTH AM I HERE FOR? PART 2

What on Earth am I here for? PART 2 The second approach to discovering the purpose of life is what I call the Self-help approach. There are thousands and thousands of self-help books. They can be helpful in certain areas but not in the area of knowing your purpose. ~Rick Warren The purpose driven life. From this group you get those who want to be a leader but no committed to see it through. If we do not follow their advice, they leave. These are the same folks who say if it's legal, permitted, and okay in the whole it should be the same in the church (crazy). What on earth am I here for? Why can't we tell God what we want and what he needs to do to answer our faith requests? The "Ecclesia" (ministry gifts) are meant to have a sphere / region of influence where the church impacts society in a far more tangible way and negate the operation of the devil in their designated region. Jesus’ mandate was to destroy the works of the devil. John 3:8 Jeremiah 29:...

THE BIBLE, YOUR DAILY NEWSPAPER

THE BIBLE, YOUR DAILY NEWSPAPER As a bible teacher, I read the bible like it was a daily newspaper of current events. Mark 13:14 Holy Scripture- Great Inspired Tribulation 14: Jesus picked up the inspired apocalyptic language of Daniel’s prophecy. Apparently Jesus pointed to the Roman destruction of the Jewish temple in A.D 10 and beyond that to the second coming, showing scripture is opened to renewed understanding and fulfillment for different generations. God has new things to reveal from his word. Last things, great tribulation-the phrase abomination that causes desolation comes verbatim from Dan. 9:27; 11:31;12:11. Abomination is a term that describes sacrilege such as the profaning of a holy place. Many believe Daniel’s prophecy had immediate reference to the unclean sacrifices in the Jerusalem temple by the Romans in A.D 10 Romans 1:28-32 28-Intellectual Nature- Turning to Abominations Abomination (depraved) normally descr...

The Source of Pardon & Spiritual Life

The three constituents of faith may be illustrated from the (1) thoughts, (2) feelings, (3) actions of a person who stand by a boat, upon a little island which the rising stream threatens to submerge. He first regards the boat from a purely intellectual point of view which it is merely an actual existing boat.  Second, as the stream rises, he looks at it with some accession of emotion, his prospective danger awakens in him the conviction that it is a good boat for a time of need though he is not yet ready to make use of it. Third, when he feels that the rushing tide must otherwise sweep him away, a volitional element is added, he then gets into the boat, trusts himself to it, accepts it as his present and only means of safety. Only this last faith in the boat is faith that saves.  Although this last includes the preceding.  It is equally clear that the getting into the boat may actually save the man, while at the same time, he may be full of fears that the boat will n...

From a Carnal Mind to Spiritual Mind Part Two

Image
My last post described some evidences of humanism disguised as faith doctrine. In this post, I would like to offer some evidences of someone who is truly walking with the Lord. I pray that these virtues draw you to dig deeper into your relationship with God. His benefits are manifold, His ways are higher than anything you can face, I pray you are blessed as you read and do what the Word of God prompts you to do. Faith is not only a declaration of dependence; it is also a vow of allegiance. Faith is not only a declaration of dependence. Believers can find themselves void of a divinely healed life if they are limiting their faith to trusting God who is The Great Physician. In fact, God requires that we obey Him (John 14:15; Deut 11:1)By doing what The Doctor has prescribed, we prove the trust that we say that we have in God. For no physician will long care for a patient who refuses to obey his orders, some were healed and went their own way. Faith is the self-surrender to t...
